Music of the Night

Here in the land of randomness, they have live music in the square at night. Tonight they had Queen's "We Will Rock You" followed by "Jingle Bells".

Alright, Hold On One Damn Minute.

Alright, now listen to me, no one in this stupid country speaks Polish despite Cracola and I's attempts to force them to speak english.

But we are constantly confronted with American music. The cab driver was listening to Cher. The chick on Polish Idol was singing "Like a Virgin". They are playing "Don't Worry, Be Happy" right NOW in the internet cafe.

I want to run downstairs and ask the guys behind the counter, "HOW CAN YOU LISTEN TO BOBBY MCFARIN ALL DAY AND NOT SPEAK A WORD OF ENGLISH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

The Chroniciski

Believe it or not, this is a Polish rap group. And even though I don't speak Polish, I could feel their black rage for the cops of LA in their music.

Poland Really, Really, Really, REALLY Hearts MJ

Ok, this is a tad on the strange side.  From this article:

"I'm so happy I can't even express it," said Wioleta Wiesyk, 24, who moved to California from her home in Wroclaw in Poland 10 months ago in order to be closer to her musical hero during the trial.

I guess I'm going to have to dig up my Thriller ALBUM and carry it with me to fit in with the naitives.

Why Yes Virginia, it is 1988

George I hope people in Cracow are nicer than the assholes in DC are.  At least if they aren't nice and are rude, I won't have any idea what they are saying.  Ignorance = bliss.

For example, I was driving to work this morning with the convertible top down with the iPod on random.  My iPod is always on random because hey, I live on the edge.  I live the idea of listening to a little Counting Crows then a little Jay-Z followed by a little Perry Como.  Anyways, as I was at a stoplight in front of my building, George Michael's "Monkey" came on.  Some jerk on the corner looked at me with disgust and said, loud enough so I could hear him over the music, "What, is it 1988 or something?  Jesus Christ."

Well I wasn't going to let Mr. Frowny Face ruin my morning George Michael buzz so I put the car into gear and ran over the bastard.

Just kidding, my Miata wouldn't have even made it up the curb.
