This place is crawling with nuns. Nuns of all shapes, sizes, habits, ethnicity and age. Nuns milling about the square, eating lunches, shopping for shoes and laughing loudly.
Yesterday, Cracola and I stumbled into a church during mass. It was one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen. The carving was so ornate and so delicate, it was awesome to behold. There was a solemnity in the church, a beauty and silence that made it seem as if the presence of God was actually there, filling the church.
Then we went home and saw on the BBC that the Pope was blessing the cars of the Ferrari car club in St. Peter's Square. It is hard to resolve the peaceful Polish mass with the footage of the Ferrari club revving their engines in one of the holiest sites to Catholics.
